Drab To Fab | 5 Fun, Alternative Venues For Your Company Party

Whether it's a launch party, a Christmas shindig, or some other kind of company gathering, hosting an event that your employees and customers want to attend can be daunting. The office party is not exactly known as a can't-miss good time. So, if you're looking to liven up your next company party, here are 5 great alternative venues to make it truly memorable.

Brew Pub. Renting out a local brew pub or wine bar is an easy route to making the party more fun and less work. The venue provides lots of charm and ambiance, so you'll have to do little more than show up and have a good time. Look for an establishment that fits your company's vibe and orientation and make sure that there's some food being provided along with the adult beverages.

Theater. Many local, independent theaters are renting out their space for private events these days. From a large auditorium that holds hundreds to a small venue that seats 50 and has a more eclectic feeling, there's probably a local theater in town that fits your needs. You could enjoy a private movie screening, project employee highlights on the big screen, and have lots of casual finger good served.

Carnival. If you want your employees to let their hair down and blow off some steam, an old-fashioned carnival might be just what you're looking for. You can often rent much of the furnishings and decorations needed -- such as tables or booths for games, plenty of seating, vintage signs, and lighting. Then, find free and inexpensive game ideas on the internet. Look for a venue with a large, open floor plan so you can spread out to create a midway and leave lots of room for food and drink tables.

Get Artistic. If you want a classy and elegant company affair, try hosting it at a local art space. Many art galleries are open to the idea of hosting private events, and their beautiful space provides a great environment. Want to get outside? Look for a downtown gallery that boasts an outdoor portion as well. Or, find an outdoor sculpture park -- either in a public area or a private collection -- and enjoy good weather and good art.

Museums. Scout out the local museums in your area for a type of collection that fits with your company's style. You may find that many collections and museums -- including aircraft museums, kids' discovery spaces, botanical gardens, historic buildings, and local history collections -- are open to hosting events. They will give you a fantastic venue and provie endless conversation starters.

Whether your company party is small or large, there are a plethora of unusual venues in which to host it, including these and others, such as the MetLife Stadium. And, no matter what your style, you'll find the right one that takes your gathering from drab to fab!
